Advocacy Support & Training (ASTra)
At some point in your journey of raising or educating a child who is Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind (DHHDB), you may feel you could use help navigating the educational process. The laws, goals, and assessments can be complicated for anyone. That's why we offer ASTra.
Through ASTra, you can receive advocacy support by working with a trained lay advocate. We can work with you behind the scenes or attend meetings (e.g. IEP or Section 504) alongside you. We also offer group training sessions for parents and professionals.
ASTra support is included in your membership (and membership is FREE for your first year). Some training sessions may require a small fee, but scholarships are available.
